Google does not provide a general off switch for AI Overviews. AiHide changes how supported sections appear in your desktop browser. You can hide them, minimize them, or leave them unchanged. Google’s Web filter is another option for a link-focused results view.
AiHide targets AI Overviews and supported related question sections on Google Search results pages. The popup calls the question category “AI Questions.” You can configure the two categories separately. It does not disable Gemini or the entire AI Mode experience.
Hide removes a detected section from view. Minimize replaces it with a compact Show/Hide control so you can reveal it when useful. Off leaves that category alone. Reload the results page after switching Off if a section has already been removed.
This website offers AiHide for desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox. We do not offer an Android or iPhone version. Switching a mobile browser to desktop mode does not enable desktop Chrome extensions.
AiHide processes supported page sections in your browser and does not send your search queries to our servers. Preferences and all-time counters use browser sync storage; language and recent daily statistics use local storage. Voluntary support reports and this website are covered separately in our privacy policy.
Yes. AiHide is currently free to install from the official Chrome, Edge and Firefox listings. You do not need an AiHide account to use its controls.
Google changes its search layouts. Check that the extension is enabled, that the correct category is set to Hide or Minimize, and that it has site access. Reload an existing results tab. If a particular layout still fails, contact us with your browser version and a redacted screenshot.
Yes. Set AI Questions to Hide and AI Overview to Off. You can also choose Minimize for either category if you want to reveal it occasionally. The two categories have independent settings.
No. AiHide changes the display of supported sections in your browser. It does not change your Google account preferences, reorder ordinary search results or stop Google from processing a search.
Website access allows AiHide to identify and modify supported Google Search sections. Its manifest requests broad website access, while its search-handling logic targets supported Google results pages. You can read more in our privacy policy and browser permissions guide.
