To hide question sections such as People also ask in supported desktop Google results, open AiHide, select AI Questions and choose Hide. Choose Minimize if you would rather keep a Show/Hide control. The AI Overview setting is separate, so you can keep or hide that section independently.
Identify the section you want to remove
People also ask usually presents a group of questions that expand to reveal answers. If those questions interrupt your reading or take up space you would rather use for website results, the relevant AiHide category is AI Questions. Changing the AI Overview mode alone is a different action.
Google's help explains that featured snippets can appear within People also ask and can contain material selected from websites. That makes it inaccurate to describe every answer in the section as generative AI. The reason to hide the section can simply be that you prefer a less crowded results page.
If you are looking at a long AI answer or a conversational interface instead, first read our guide to the different Google search features. Identifying the visible section saves you from adjusting the wrong setting.
Hide question sections with AiHide
Use the official AiHide listing for your supported desktop browser, then open the popup from the browser's toolbar or extensions menu. Make sure you are changing settings in the browser and profile where you actually search.
- Select AI Questions in the popup.
- Choose Hide.
- Return to your Google results page.
- Refresh an already-open results tab if needed.
- Check that the question section, rather than a different search feature, is the part you were trying to hide.
This is a browser display preference. It does not request that Google remove the questions from its service or change what other users see. It also does not rewrite the answers on the websites those results link to.
Use Minimize when some questions are useful
Question suggestions can be useful on one search and distracting on the next. If you want the option to read them without leaving the section fully open, choose Minimize. AiHide then provides a Show/Hide control for the targeted content.
This gives you a practical middle ground when you research unfamiliar topics. You can focus on the results you came for, then reveal the question section when you want to inspect it. If you prefer the section completely out of view, keep Hide selected. See our mode guide for a direct comparison.
Decide what to do with AI Overviews
The two AiHide categories can use different modes. For example, set AI Questions to Hide and AI Overview to Off if you want to leave the overview untouched. Alternatively, hide the overview and minimize the question section. Choose both deliberately rather than assuming one control covers the entire page.
To restore the question section, return to AI Questions and select Off, then reload the results tab. Off tells AiHide to leave the category alone; reloading lets Google restore a section that Hide already removed. You can compare the arrangements using your own searches.
What if a question box remains visible?
Check the selected category, mode and extension access first. Google uses different results layouts, and its interface can change. A remaining box may use a layout that needs an extension update or may be a different feature from the one you intended to control.
Do not assume every question-like element is covered. If the expected section remains visible after the basic checks, use the troubleshooting guide. A clear report with your browser version, Google domain and an example screenshot helps describe the issue; remove personal information before sharing it.
