These Terms of Use govern your use of the ChatVault browser extension and website. By installing, purchasing, or using ChatVault, you agree to these terms.

Permitted use

ChatVault is provided for lawful personal backup, record keeping, and other uses for which you have the necessary rights and permissions. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws, privacy obligations, contractual duties, and the rights of conversation participants.

Prohibited use

You may not use ChatVault to unlawfully access, collect, disclose, sell, or distribute another person's information; violate intellectual-property or privacy rights; interfere with WhatsApp or any other service; bypass access controls; distribute malware; or engage in fraudulent or abusive activity.

Accounts and third-party services

You are responsible for your WhatsApp account, browser, device, exported files, and compliance with the terms of any third-party service you use. ChatVault is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. Changes made by WhatsApp or your browser may affect ChatVault's operation.

Free and paid features

Some features may require a paid license. Prices, included features, and license duration are shown at checkout. Payments, receipts, taxes, license delivery, and any applicable refund process may be handled by our payment and licensing provider under the terms presented during checkout. You must keep your license key secure and may not resell, publish, or share it except where the purchased license expressly permits.

Ownership

ChatVault, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use ChatVault as intended; they do not transfer ownership of the product to you.

Availability and updates

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, compatibility, or product quality. We do not promise that ChatVault will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every browser or future version of WhatsApp Web.

Disclaimer

ChatVault is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of every message or media file. You should verify important exports and maintain appropriate backup copies.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, access, or business opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use ChatVault.
