This Privacy Policy explains how ChatVault ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the browser extension and this website.

Chat and media data

ChatVault accesses the WhatsApp Web conversation and media you choose so it can create your requested export. This content is processed as part of the browser workflow and packaged for download to your device. We do not operate a server that receives or stores the contents of your exported chats.

Your exported ZIP files remain under your control. You are responsible for storing, sharing, and protecting them appropriately.

Information we may receive

• If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you include in your message. Website contact form messages are delivered through a third-party form provider.
• If you purchase a paid license, the payment and licensing provider processes transaction, billing, and license information needed to complete and manage the purchase. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
• This website may use privacy-focused traffic analytics to understand aggregate visits and improve the site. The analytics provider may process technical information such as page views, browser type, device type, referral source, and approximate location derived from an IP address.

How information is used

We use information we receive to provide support, manage licenses and purchases, prevent abuse, maintain the extension, and improve ChatVault. We do not sell your personal information or chat content.

Third-party services

ChatVault works with WhatsApp Web and may use third-party services for extension distribution, payments, licensing, website analytics, and contact form delivery. Those services process information under their own privacy policies. ChatVault is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.

Optional uninstall feedback

If you choose to submit our uninstall survey, Google Forms processes the answers you provide. The form does not automatically collect your email address and does not require Google sign-in. We use the answers to improve ChatVault. Please do not include private conversations, media, license keys, or payment details. The embedded form connects to Google when it loads.

We store your chosen website language in your browser when you use the language selector. You can remove that preference by clearing this website's local storage.

Data retention and security

Support correspondence and purchase or license records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. We use reasonable safeguards, but no electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices

You can stop the extension's access by disabling or uninstalling it. You may also contact us to ask about personal information held directly by us or to request its correction or deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the product or our practices change. The revised version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
