Open Options

Open ChatVault, then select the Options control in the popup header. Use the back arrow to return to the conversation and export controls when you have finished.

Settings belong to the extension in the current browser profile. If an option appears different in another profile or browser, check where you installed and activated ChatVault before changing anything else.

Change the popup appearance

Dark mode changes the appearance of the extension popup. Use the switch in Options to choose the appearance you prefer. This is an interface preference; it does not change the text of your WhatsApp messages.

Changing the popup theme does not convert an earlier exported document or modify a previously downloaded ZIP. Create and inspect a new export when you need to check the appearance of its reading document.

Activate an existing license

In Premium Activation, paste the license key from your purchase email into Enter license key and select Activate. Check the resulting status in the same popup before returning to date-based exports.

Activation requires a connection to the license service. Preserve the key as private account information and avoid including it in screenshots or support messages. Changing website language is separate from activating a license.

1. Open Options in ChatVault.
2. Find Premium Activation.
3. Paste your existing license key without extra whitespace.
4. Select Activate and wait for the displayed result.
5. Return to the main view and check the available controls.

If activation fails

Read the status shown by the extension. Check that the key came from the correct purchase and was copied completely, then check your network connection. Verify that you are using the intended browser profile.

If you contact support, provide the browser version, ChatVault version and the displayed error text. Keep the full license key out of a general message; support can explain what additional information is needed for your case.
